New law for rebates - what applies to your webshop?

A new law will enter into force on 1 September 2022. The aim is to stop "fake sales", i.e. raising the price in advance of a sale, which makes the price cut seem bigger than it really is. It means that when shops advertise a price cut, the lowest price in the last 30 days must be shown for comparison.

In our system the field "extra price" needs to be filled in.
If you have set an extra price, after September 1st we will automatically display a comparison price next to all extra prices.
If the store reduces the price of products without filling in the "extra price" field, it will be displayed as a regular price change instead of a special reaprice.
When a price reduction is gradual (e.g. during a promotion period), the price before the first price reduction will be used as the comparison price.

The price comparison does not apply to:

• Personalised or customised prices
  
• Buy more - pay for less.
• Discount codes.
• Price reductions not promoted by the store.
