Deactivate KSA and change shipping flow safely

Switch from Kustom Shipping Assistant without losing a working shipping route or confusing old orders with the new configuration.

This guide is for administrators who already use KSA with Kustom Checkout. Check if the shipping options come from your own Abicart delivery methods or an external TMS. The package name does not determine which of these flows is active. Alternative shipping integrations, carrier agreements, and TA selections have their own terms.

1. Identify store, market, and dependencies

1. Check the correct sub-store and which countries/markets use KSA.
2. Document checkout settings, shipping methods, profile/country connections, and which system is the TMS master.
3. Prepare and check the standard shipping methods or the new integration that will replace KSA. Check the shipping price in each relevant currency; a zero rate should only be used if free shipping is actually intended.
4. Complete or pause ongoing order exports and bookings before changing the TMS master. Check which older orders still need to be processed and document the carrier, service, pickup point, and booking status.
5. Check how to restore the settings if the new route does not work. Do not delete all profiles or keys as a first step.

2A. KSA uses its own delivery methods in Abicart

1. Confirm that the intended Abicart methods work without KSA and apply to the correct addresses.
2. Open Settings → Checkout in the correct store.
3. Deselect Use Kustom Shipping Assistant and save.
4. Check the checkout for the affected countries, postal codes, and order conditions. The setting being off is not proof that a replacement method is displayed.

2B. KSA uses an external TMS via Kustom

Abicart's KSA setting and the choice of an external TMS master are different settings. Switching to an external master can delete Abicart's TMS profile; switching back may require configuring a profile again. Therefore, treat the master change as a separate integration change with a documented restoration process.

1. Open Kustom portal → Apps → Shipping and select the correct Store and profile/market according to your current portal.
2. Check the profile's active countries and dependencies. Confirm a working replacement shipping method, the correct price, and a documented restoration path before deactivating any country connection.
3. Then coordinate the necessary country, master, and profile change for this store. A country can be linked to only one shipping profile at a time; parallel active profiles or an interruption-free switch cannot therefore be assumed. Deactivate the old country connection only when the old shipping route is actually to end.
4. Open Settings → Checkout in Abicart, deselect KSA when it is the right step in the process, and save.
5. Check the checkout immediately after the switch: the intended shipping route and the correct price should be displayed, and the correct system should receive new shipping selections.

Deleting an unused profile is a separate, optional follow-up task, not a preparatory step in the switch. A profile with an active country cannot simply be deleted.

3. Handle existing orders according to their saved flow

Saved order references remain, but they are not a guarantee that a later export will use the same carrier and settings. Check the correct carrier, service, pickup point, and booking status for older orders before they are forwarded. Complete or investigate old exports in the system where they were created. An old reference should not be changed to a new default value, and an uncertain booking outcome should be checked before a new attempt. Switching back can create a new profile and does not reliably restore all previous connections.

If shipping options are missing after the change: check the active method, country/postal code, weight, amount limits, and new integration access. Restore the specific settings as documented; repeated master changes are not a general troubleshooting method.

Quick start

1. Identify your own methods or an external TMS and the correct Store/country.
2. Document the profile/master, complete or pause ongoing exports, and check the price and function of the replacement shipping.
3. Follow the correct deactivation path without general profile deletion.
4. Check new checkout selections and keep old order references in the correct flow.

Subscription and access

This guide applies to an existing KSA connection. Check the separate package/add-on terms for the shipping integration you are switching to. The Pro plan's TA selection, Kustom agreements, and external TMS profiles are different prerequisites.
