Safely bulk edit regular prices and sale prices
2 Mar 2026
Change many prices at once with the correct price list and a controlled product selection. This guide applies to store administrators in Go, Plus, and Pro. It describes regular prices and sale prices in Abicart. Customer group prices, sub-stores, and prices controlled by an ERP system need to be checked separately; a manual change could otherwise affect the wrong price or be overwritten during the next synchronization. 1. Choose the right type of change and save the original Campaign/sale price: keep the regular price and enter a separate lower price.Changed regular price: use the percentage tool in the correct regular price list. Note the product selection, currencies, and current prices before the change. Under Catalogue → Pricing you can copy a price list. Keep the original unchanged and give the working copy a clear name. A copy does not automatically replace the store's active list; check the connection under Usage when it is to be used. Check the regular price and sale price respectively, and the correct store or customer group. 2. Set sale price for selected products This method calculates a discount from the regular price, not from an existing sale price. For example, the value 20 results in 80 if the regular price is 100. An existing sale price for a selected product can be replaced. Therefore, exclude products that should not be changed before you save; the operation does not automatically leave previous offers untouched. When advertising price reductions to consumers in Sweden, show the lowest price in the 30 days before the reduction for goods covered by these rules. Calculate any advertised percentage or amount reduction from that price. The tool calculates from the regular price, so check the advertised discount and displayed reference price before the campaign. In Enter the discount percentage based on the regular price, enter the discount without a minus sign, for example 20. The minus sign in −20 is used in the separate tool for changing existing price rows. In the discount action, 0 removes the sale price. Go to Catalogue → Products and select the products to be changed. Check the number of products and any additional pages in the listing. Open Perform action on the selected. Select Additional operations and then Set discount percentage based on regular price. Enter the discount percentage, for example 20 for a 20% lower price, and save. 0 removes the sale price for the selected products. This is not the same as making the product free, and it does not restore a previous campaign price. Do not use 0 when you want to keep an existing sale price. If a sale price list is missing Check Catalogue → Pricing → Usage. Select an intended list for Sale price for the correct store, without accidentally changing the regular price list. Review the list's contents before connecting it to the store. 3. Increase or decrease prices in a selected price list The percentage tool changes existing price rows in the list you open. It does not automatically create a campaign discount calculated from another list. Use a copy when the prices need to be restorable. Go to Catalogue → Pricing and open the correct list. Search for the products, for example using the product group filter. Open Tools. Select the percentage-change action: Tillämpa procentuell ändring / Apply percentage change to prices. Enter the change for each affected currency: −20 lowers an existing price by 20%, while 10 increases it by 10%. Leave currencies that should not be changed empty. Check the rounding; the tool rounds up according to the selected precision. Select Only apply to prices in current filter selection when only the filtered selection should be changed. Without this limitation, other price rows in the list may also be affected. Check the selections and select Apply change. 4. Check and restore safely Check a few products with and without previous sale prices, affected currencies, and any variants, both in the administration and in the store. Also check as a logged-in customer if customer group prices are used. A change to the base product's price is not proof that all variants' own prices have been changed. Restore from documented original prices or the saved price list. Lowering 100 to 50 with −50% and then increasing it by +50% results in 75, not 100. Rounding can also make a mathematical recalculation uncertain. In case of interruption: read the actual prices before running the tool again; a repeated percentage increase can change them further. A scheduled price list switch can change which list is used and revert when the period expires. Check the start, end, which usage is changed, and which list is restored. A global switch does not automatically change separate customer group connections. Do not delete lists needed for restoration. Quick startChoose sale price or regular price and save the original prices.Check the product selection, price list, currency, and usage connection.Make the intended change and review the result before widespread use.Check the store price and restore from the original when the campaign is over. SubscriptionBasic product prices and sale prices are available in Go, Plus, and Pro. Customer groups, multi-shop, and ERP integrations have their own subscription and contract terms. Check the feature that will be used in addition to the standard pricing.

Create and end sale prices for multiple products
27 Nov 2025
Create and end a promotion without accidentally changing the store's regular prices. This guide is for store administrators in Go, Plus, and Pro. A sale price is a separate promotional price. Discount codes and customer group discounts are other features. If an ERP system controls prices, the campaign must be coordinated with that price update. 1. Determine the campaign's products and preserve previous prices Note the regular prices, existing sale prices, currencies, and which list is used under Catalogue → Pricing → Usage. Copy the affected price lists before making bulk changes if you need to be able to restore their content. A new campaign group is a way to gather the selection, not a discount in itself. You can create a product group, for example, Black Friday, and add the products to be included. Do not change the products' primary groups just to fit a filter; check how the products are used in the store's navigation. 2. Calculate sale price from regular price Go to Catalogue → Products. Filter for the campaign group and check that the correct products are displayed. Select the products to be changed. Check the count, pagination, and that already discounted products that should be excluded are not selected. Open Perform on selected → Additional operations. Select Set discount percentage based on regular price. For example, enter 20 for a new sale price that is 20% lower than the regular price. Save. The calculation is based on the regular price and can replace an existing sale price. A regular price of 100 and a discount of 20 results in a sale price of 80, even if a previous promotion had a different amount. The feature does not automatically exclude products that are already discounted. Check variant prices separately when variants have their own prices. If the action cannot be completed because a sale price list is missing, check Catalogue → Pricing → Usage → Sale price for the correct store. Review the content before selecting a list. 3. Change amounts in an existing price list This is a different workflow: the percentage tool calculates based on the prices already in the opened list. Therefore, reducing a sale price list by 20% is not the same as calculating a 20% discount from the regular price. Open the intended list under Catalogue → Pricing. Search for the products. A filter can apply to Product group (primary), meaning the primary product group. Open the group selection. Select groups and search. Check that all intended products are actually displayed. Open Tools → Apply percentage change to prices. Enter, for example, -20 for a decrease or 10 for an increase, per currency. Select rounding and check Only apply to prices in current filter selection if only the selection should be affected. Select Apply change. Rounding is done upwards according to the selected precision. An empty currency input leaves that currency without a percentage change. Make sure you are not working in the regular price list when the intention is a temporary campaign. 4. Start, check, and end the campaign Check the correct price list and its usage before the campaign starts. Creating or copying a list does not automatically activate its prices. Also, check any customer group prices and sub-stores. A scheduled change of the sale price list can specify a start, end, and reset list. Check which usage it applies to. A global change does not automatically change separate customer group connections. Keep the reset list and check the result when the period has expired. To remove bulk-entered sale prices you can use the same product operation with a discount percentage of 0 for the selected products. This removes their sale price; it does not restore an older sale price that was overwritten. If previous offers are to return, restore the documented prices or the saved list's usage instead. Never restore a percentage decrease by adding the same percentage. 100 → 50 after −50% becomes 75 after +50%. In case of an interruption, you should read the actual results before a new run. Finally, check a few products, currencies, and variants in the store, including as a logged-in customer when customer groups are used. Quick startSave the original prices and select the campaign's products.Choose a discount from the regular price or a change to an existing price list.Check the selection, list, currency, and start/end before the change is applied.Check the store and end by correct removal or restoration. SubscriptionProduct prices and regular sale prices are available in Go, Plus, and Pro. Customer groups, multishop, and integration-controlled prices have their own conditions and must be checked when the campaign uses them.

How does a discount work where the buyer gets the cheapest product for free?
27 Nov 2025
Cheapest Product Free Discount Create a discount that makes the cheapest product in the shopping cart free once a minimum item count is reached. Discounts are included in the Abicart Plus and Pro subscriptions. Discounts work by deducting the value of one or more products at checkout, so the discount only becomes visible to the buyer at that stage. If you'd rather show a reduced price directly on the product page, use the product's extra price field instead. If you want to discount the total order value rather than specific products, a gift card is the better fit. When several discounts are active at once, the system automatically applies whichever one is best for each product. Only one discount can apply per product. Create the Discount Go to Discounts → New discount → Cheapest product free. Name Give the discount a name. It will appear in the admin panel, at checkout, and on the order confirmation. For example: "Buy 5 items and get the cheapest product free". Discount Settings Enter how many items need to be in the shopping cart for the discount to activate. In this example, that number is five. The discount activates once the item count is reached, as long as the cheapest product in the cart is part of the discount's product selection. The other items in the cart don't need to be part of that selection themselves. Scheduling If the discount should only run for a set period, add a start and end date. Each day runs from 00:00 to 23:59, so a discount valid for a single day would use 2022-01-01 00:00 as the start and 2022-01-01 23:59 as the end. Codes To require a discount code at checkout, check "Use codes". Any existing codes will be listed at the bottom of the box. Click "Add Code" to create a new one. You can type your own code into the "Code" field, or click "Generate" to have one created automatically. Usage Limit To cap how many times a code can be used, enter a number in the usage limit field. Leave it blank for unlimited use. Product Selection Choose which product or products the discount applies to. Check the box next to "All products" to apply it store-wide, or search for a specific product by name or item number. Entire product groups can be selected as well. Note: If a product belongs to multiple product groups, its primary product group must be the one checked for the product to be included in the discount selection. Customer Selection Control who has access to the discount by choosing "All customers", "All customers who are not logged in", "All logged in customers", or a specific customer group.
