You can now import product data from XLSX files in addition to the previously available CSV and TXT formats. Contact Abicart customer service

27 Aug 2026

You can get help via the chat in Abicart Admin, email, or phone. Support is included with Abicart Go, Plus, and Pro. Email hello@abicart.se or call 031-320 43 21. Our published opening hours are weekdays from 9 to 16, Swedish time. You can ask for human help even when the conversation starts with the AI assistant. Chat with us in Abicart Admin Log in to Abicart Admin and select the correct store if you have access to more than one. Click Ask a question in the bottom right corner. Describe what you are trying to do, what you expected, and what is happening instead. Add a specific example when relevant. Read the answer and check if it helps you move forward. Let us know if it doesn't fit your situation or if you want human help. The AI assistant can answer common questions and gather information for the support team. When your case has been forwarded to the support team, follow the message you receive about further contact. If you don't receive a message about the handover or the next step, ask for human help again or contact us via email or phone. An AI answer and a registered support case are different things: check what message you actually received about the next step. Contact us without being logged in Contact methodHow to do it EmailEmail hello@abicart.se. State which store and what problem it concerns. PhoneCall 031-320 43 21. From abroad: +46 31 320 43 21. Contact formFill out the form on our contact page with your contact details and a description of the question. Our published opening hours are weekdays from 9 to 16, Swedish time. See current contact information under My customer service in Admin or on the contact page. The fact that the AI chat can provide automatic answers outside of opening hours does not mean that a human is available at the same time. If you want human help or a callback Write or say that you want to contact a human. If you want a callback, state what the question is about and how you can be reached. A registered callback request is not the same as a booked call time. Go by the information you receive about how and when the contact will be followed up. If you already have a case, you can continue in the same conversation so that previous information is included. Describe what you still need help with, especially if a previous answer did not solve the problem. What information helps us troubleshoot? Order or payment: the store's address or ID, order number, the payment method concerned, and what is incorrect. Product or integration: item number, which system shows the discrepancy, and approximately when the change or transfer was made. Login or other error: where the error occurs, the exact error message, the approximate time, and a relevant screenshot if possible. Only include information needed for the question. Hide passwords, API keys, card details, and irrelevant customer data in screenshots. Do not send entire customer or order registers when a single example is sufficient. If the chat is not visible or the help is not enough You can always use email, phone, or the contact form. Let us know if you cannot access Admin or if the chat is missing, so we can choose a contact method that works. Also, describe if several parts of the store are affected or if the error only applies to a specific example. Quick start Logged in to Admin: open Ask a question in the bottom right corner and describe what you want to do. Under your name, you will also find My customer service. Can't log in? Use email, phone, or the contact form. Want to talk to a human? Say so clearly and check what information you receive about further contact. Make it easy for us to help you: provide the store, relevant order or item number, error message, and approximate time. Do not send passwords or payment details. Subscription and access Support via chat, email, and phone is included in Abicart Go, Plus, and Pro. You need to be logged in to use the chat in Admin. Email, phone, and the contact form can be used without logging in. Human help follows our current opening hours and the message you receive in your case; an automatic AI answer does not mean that a human is available at the same time.

Energy Efficiency Class

21 May 2026

Energy Efficiency Class The energy_efficiency_class attribute allows you to communicate how a product rates on a given energy efficiency scale. When using this attribute, you must also provide the full range by setting both a minimum and maximum value: energy_efficiency_class - the actual rating of the product (e.g. A+) min_energy_efficiency_class - the lowest rating on the scale (e.g. D) max_energy_efficiency_class - the highest rating on the scale (e.g. A+++) This is an optional field, used exclusively for Google Merchant Center integration. Important: As of April 2025, these attributes are only available for products targeting Switzerland, Norway, or the United Kingdom. For products targeting EU countries, use the certification attribute instead, which pulls energy efficiency data from the EU's EPREL database. Setting up the Energy Efficiency Class attribute 1. Enable the attributes Go to Assortment → Products → Product Settings. In the panel on the right, locate the Product Attributes section. Scroll down until you find the Energy Efficiency heading. You will see three sub-attributes: Actual Energy Efficiency Class, Maximum Energy Efficiency Class, and Minimum Energy Efficiency Class. For each one, select the option Include in product feed and click Save. Note: The option to mark a field as private will hide it from customers, but to send the value to Google you must select the product feed option. 2. Add energy efficiency details to a product Go to Assortment → Products and open the product you wish to edit. Scroll to the bottom-right of the product page. You will find the Energy Efficiency fields, where you can enter the actual, minimum, and maximum class values. 3. Export to Google Merchant Center Once energy efficiency values have been added to a product, they will be included in your Google product feed automatically. In Google Merchant Center, the energy efficiency information will be displayed on your product listing where supported. If you have any questions, please contact customer support.

Certification

21 May 2026

Certification With the certification attribute, you can describe the certifications required under local regulations for a product, such as energy labeling or carbon class. To display a certification on Google, you must provide a supported combination of the following sub-attributes: certification_authority - the body that issued the certification (e.g. EU) certification_name - the name of the certification (e.g. Energy Label) certification_code - the specific rating or code (e.g. A+) This is an optional field, used exclusively for Google Merchant Center integration. Note: If you do not provide certification information, Google may automatically add it based on your product's GTIN and MPN data. You can always correct or update this by submitting new values. Setting up the Certification attribute 1. Enable the attributes Go to Assortment → Products → Product Settings. In the panel on the right, locate the Product Attributes section. Scroll down until you find the Certification heading. You will see three sub-attributes: Certification Authority, Certification Code, and Certification Name. For each one, select the option Include in product feed and click Save. Note: The option to mark a field as private will hide it from customers, but to send the value to Google you must select the product feed option. 2. Add certification details to a product Go to Assortment → Products and open the product you wish to edit. Scroll to the bottom-right of the product page. You will find the Certification fields, where you can enter values for authority, name, and code. 3. Export to Google Merchant Center Once certification details have been added to a product, the values will be included in your Google product feed automatically. In Google Merchant Center, the certification information will be displayed on your product listing where supported. If you have any questions, please contact customer support.

Formidabel and SkapaiLund combine physical store and e-commerce.

18 Dec 2025

Inger has many irons in the fire and has been running a successful e-commerce business with Abicart since 2013. In this interview, she tells us more about combining a physical store with a webshop, challenges with e-commerce and tips for getting started selling online.Inger runs the physical store Formidabel and the associated webshop at formidabel.nu. "Our product portfolio consists mainly of silver and steel jewelry, mainly from Swedish and Danish brands," says Inger. "At SkapaiLund.se we also sell materials for making your own jewelry." Inger first launched her online business on Tradera in 2008, before realizing the need for her own website. This led to the launch of SkapaiLund as an e-commerce site in 2011. In 2013, Inger switched to Abicart, formerly known as Textalk, and a new era began for her e-commerce business. "Having my own website was crucial," Inger explains. "Abicart made it easy for us to get started at a relatively low cost, and also with clarity about what is included in different packages. In addition, their support has been good and friendly." Online sales for both stores have grown steadily since the start. But it was during the 2020 pandemic that the company really took off. "When we implemented stock sync in mid-2021, our sales on Formidabel increased by over 300%", says Inger. Despite the online success, Formidabel and SkapaiLund have stayed true to their roots and only sell their products within Sweden. "I strongly believe in a combination of digital and physical trade", Inger emphasizes. Challenges are a natural part of the business landscape, and Inger admits that there are several aspects of e-commerce that can be difficult. "The technical side is a big challenge for me as a 60-year-old," she admits. "Shipping costs and pricing are also a challenge. I try to learn as much as I can by reading, listening to webinars and podcasts." The company uses a combination of different digital marketing media to promote its webshop. "We use Facebook ads and Google advertising, and we are also active on social media like Instagram and TikTok," Inger reveals. Inger is looking forward to future growth and expansion. "Right now the focus is on the two shops I have, but it would be fun to start a third in the future," Inger says with a smile. She also emphasizes the importance of listening to customer feedback and adapting to their needs. "We are constantly working on improving our imagery, making our product descriptions as clear as possible and simplifying the ordering process. Customer feedback is crucial for us to improve both the store and the customer experience," she explains. When it comes to the technical side of the webshop, Inger says she uses Abicart PRO because it allows her to manage multiple stores. "Features and integrations such as the connection to MoreFlo for syncing with the POS system are important to us," she adds. So, what tips would Inger share with someone considering starting a webshop? "Get started, don't wait! Start with a platform so you can get help and support. Keep track of your costs and make sure it's profitable. Work on the organic search results and be patient - Rome wasn't built in a day!" concludes Inger.Visit FormidabelVisit SkapaiLundClick here to start your webshop - Free demo!

5 common problems for online stores - and how to solve them

18 Dec 2025

Running an e-commerce business can be challenging in many ways. Although e-commerce has grown exponentially in popularity in recent years, starting, running and making it profitable is not easy. E-merchants can run into a variety of problems when trying to increase their online profitability. But by identifying the problems and implementing the right measures, these problems can be solved and profitability increased.Low conversionOne of the most common challenges faced by e-merchants is getting visitors to their website to actually buy the products. This may be because visitors find the site unclear or difficult to navigate, or because there is a lack of trust in the company or its products. To increase conversions, e-merchants can take a variety of steps, such as optimizing the design and usability of their website, offering a quick and easy buying process, including social proof and reviews from previous customers, or offering free shipping or returns.Poor search engine optimization (SEO)Another challenge for e-merchants is ranking high on search engine results pages. This can cause fewer visitors to find the site, reducing the chances of making sales. One reason for poor SEO can be a lack of keyword analysis and optimization of the website's structure and content. E-merchants can enlist the help of SEO experts or use various SEO tools to identify and optimize the most important keywords.High return rateA high return rate can have a negative impact on the profitability of an e-merchant. This can be due to poor product quality, unclear product information or a complicated returns process. To reduce returns, e-retailers can work on improving product quality and descriptions, including high quality product images and videos, or offering a simple and clear returns process.CompetitionE-merchants often face stiff competition, which can make it difficult to stand out and attract new customers. To reduce competition, e-retailers can offer unique products and brands, or differentiate themselves by offering better customer service or faster delivery. E-merchants can also work on their marketing, for example by offering high quality product images and videos, or by using influencer marketing to reach new customers. Another important factor is creating a clear brand identity and communicating it clearly throughout the customer experience.Lack of marketingE-merchants can find it difficult to reach their target audience and market their products effectively. This may be due to a lack of digital marketing knowledge or insufficient marketing budgets. To solve this problem, e-merchants can work on a clear marketing strategy that focuses on reaching their target audience on the channels where they are. This could mean using social media to promote products, creating promotions or competitions to attract new customers, or working with email marketing to keep existing customers informed about new products and offers. It is also important to measure and analyse the results of marketing activities in order to adjust and improve the strategy over time. These issues can negatively affect an e-merchant's profitability and it can be difficult to know how to address them. However, with the right strategy and actions, these problems can be solved and e-merchants can increase their online profitability.

A support system can help both before and after the sale by enabling you, or your employees, to clearly communicate with the customer.Having a live chat or helpdesk tool available can turn a customer query into an actual purchase or a complaint into a solution. Whether they come through your webshop, via email or social media. Very often, a quick and well-handled problem can turn a dissatisfied customer into a loyal, returning customer. You also get invaluable feedback directly from customers that can help you improve your products and your overall shopping experience.Offer customer loginLogged-in customers can take advantage of special discounts and prices. Logged-in customers can also create shopping lists, favorite products and keep track of their previous orders.*Click here to learn more about discounts: Discounts.Ensure a great experience for customers during their visitStart from the premise that no one really needs what you sell. In a little over 25 years, we have moved from an economy based on the scarcity of goods and services to one that offers an unimaginable abundance. There are very few products you can sell that are not already sold elsewhere.Instead, focus on how you sell what you sell. Differentiate your customer experience from your competitors and increase the chances of them coming back! Products come and go, but there will always be a market for truly remarkable experiences.Reduce the risk of cart abandonmentSend out emails if the customer leaves the cart without completing their purchase! Because if they choose to read that email, statistics show that they tend to spend 55% more than the original cart was worth. Talk about great marketing!Remember, these emails are going to customers who already have some knowledge of your brand. They already know your brand is good, so remind them why they can trust you. Send newsletters/use email marketingYou can use email marketing to nudge existing customers in the right direction, and get them to repeat a purchase. By sending personalized messages, you can reach people who have abandoned their basket or who have bought consumables.Previous customers have already shown some interest in your brand's products, so there's a good chance they can be encouraged to buy again. Regular emails are also a great way to keep your brand top of mind with customers, showcasing new products, promoting sales and offering exclusive discounts - all of which can help boost sales.Learn from feedbackOur final tip is to listen to your customers. Give them a chance and many will be brutally honest and tell you exactly what they love, and what they don't. Make it easy to give reviews on multiple channels.Collect reviews on social media and ask for a review after each purchase via email. You can send a thank you email and include a short survey or a simple ranking system. You can then use the collected information to send personalized offers. Remember that returning customers spend more if they trust your brand. Also, consider the use of your coupons as feedback - you can see which promotions work best and adjust accordingly.Returning customers are a valuable resource for any e-commerce business. While you are making efforts to bring in new customers, you should also focus on getting repeat purchases from your existing customers.Bonus tip!Having returning customers in your webshop is great! But how can you ensure they buy from you? Let's take a quick look at some steps on how to successfully drive repeat purchases from your ecommerce customers:Collect data.Create customer segments based on behavioral patternsBuild category groups for product recommendations.Implement machine learning.Use retargeting ads. Digital display window

An easier way to get started with e-commerce Have you or your business discussed starting e-commerce, but haven't quite felt you have the time or the energy? Does it get too complicated to keep up with a new platform and all that it entails? Maybe a digital storefront could still be for you! Here we go through what it is and why it might be a good option. Taking the plunge online and expanding your business from just having one or more physical stores is no easy feat. It presents some challenges and it requires both time and commitment. If you or your business is to succeed really well, you need to put quite a lot of effort into your e-commerce, you need to keep the product balance up to date, you need to make sure that the shipping works properly and so on. Maybe you just don't have the time? There's nothing wrong with that, but at the same time it's a shame to miss out on all the opportunities that online visibility brings, isn't it?Show what you've got - but sell offlineThis is where the digital shop window comes in, but what is it?Yes, in a way it's like an e-commerce, except you're not selling anything directly on the web. Instead, you can display your range in a neat and tidy way so that anyone who has considered visiting your physical store knows what's available and what's not. This can also attract a lot of new customers who are looking for a particular product, but who had no idea that you were selling it in the first place. With a digital storefront, you simply display the products available in your store, but you don't have to deal with shipping, inventory balances and all the other things that can take extra time. It works much like a classic product catalogue, but a more modern one. We're playing with the idea that your company is called "Stina's Garden Tools AB" (STAB). You sell, as the name suggests, gardening tools. We are also toying with the idea that Hakim is buying a new lawnmower and that he has heard from his friend that STAB exists - however, the friend was unsure whether you sell lawnmowers or not. Probably STAB has a good entry point with Hakim because his friend told him about you and so he is googling you. Let's say you have a website where people can find your opening hours, contact details and that you sell "all kinds of gardening tools" but not much more than that. Hakim finds your website but doesn't get an answer to his question, in short he still doesn't know if you sell lawnmowers or not. Instead, he finds your competitor and buys the lawnmower there instead. The above example is of course almost a little over-ambiguous, but it still encapsulates what a digital shop window could do for your business.Advantages over a regular websiteLet's break down the advantages of a digital shop window into three points where we focus a little extra on why it is better than just having a regular website. Nice and tidy. Even if you have a perfectly fine website where you've put up some pictures of what you're selling, it doesn't give nearly the same professional impression as if you had the products neatly sorted by category, with clear product names and pictures. Who would you rather buy a product from? The shop with an information-rich website or the shop with a well-organised digital shop window?Searchability on Google. In addition to the example of Hakim, there are a lot of other customers out there who are also looking for a lawnmower. Many of them may not have even considered that you might be selling lawnmowers and even more may not even know about you at all. However, what they are probably doing is searching Google for lawnmowers. If you've done your homework right with a digital shop window, you're much more likely to come up higher in the search results than if you just have a website with a few pictures. By having a real e-commerce business (even if you don't sell online), your lawnmower may even show up in Google Shopping results. If you're not familiar with Google Shopping, you've probably come across it at some point when searching for a specific product without giving it a second thought. Either on the home page of your search results you see a row of products, what they cost and where you can buy them, or you've clicked on "Shopping" in the row where you can select "Everything", "Images", "Maps" and so on. This is Google Shopping and since 2020 Google has also started to show organic results here and not just paid ads.Business-to-business (B2B) sales. If you are a B2B salesperson, a digital shop window is highly recommended, both for potential and existing customers. In addition to making it easier to reach new customers, you can simplify things for your existing ones and perhaps sell more or at least save your precious time in the process. If it's easy to see what's available, how much it costs and what the product is called, it will be much easier for the customer to communicate their order to you. This means fewer questions, fewer misunderstandings and more time left over for other things. Digital storefront via AbicartIf you or your business are curious about trying a digital storefront, we at Abicart can help. They took their e-commerce abroad

Q&A with Niclas at Ekokul. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to launch your e-commerce business in another country? Ekokul started its business in 2008 and focuses, among other things, on toys that are sustainably produced. Six years after its launch, it launched its online shop in Finland and the following year in Denmark. In today's blog post, we pepper Ekokul's founder Niclas Lundgren with questions about how they did it, what experiences they gained and what tips they can share. Follow along! Before we get into the e-commerce itself, tell us a bit about who you are! - Founded in 2008, Ekokul is a family business driven by the desire to change. We are constantly looking for products that can become the obvious choice over mass-produced products without a second thought. We believe in joy and attractiveness instead of finger-pointing and fear-mongering. We want to be able to offer toys, baby products and more that meet the standards that many consumers now take for granted in other products, such as food and children's clothing. We look for products that are, among other things, organic, sustainable, recyclable and fairly traded. So far we have to be content with at least ticking off a couple of our criteria, but we think that's at least a good start.     Where did you get the idea for Ekokul? - It was born in 2007. My wife Anna and I had been discussing different business ideas and had a dream of running our own business. When we realised that there was a gap in the market for organic and environmentally friendly toys and children's products, we started working on launching an online shop. We were relatively early and have been part of an exciting journey where we have really seen from the inside how e-commerce has evolved and how customer behaviour and buying patterns have changed. Ekokul does not have a physical store but conducts all its sales online. After six years of working in the Swedish market, it was time to launch the online store abroad in 2014. How did you decide to go beyond Sweden's borders and how did you go about it? - Copenhagen is a stone's throw from Malmö where we have our office, so it was quite natural that we would launch our shop abroad. However, it was more of a coincidence that it was Finland and not Denmark that became our first new country. This was because we found a good partner in Finland who could take care of translations and customer service. In 2015, we launched Ekokul in Denmark as well. What has it meant for your business to go international? - Competition in e-commerce in Sweden has intensified in the last five years and more companies are having to share the pie. By investing internationally, we have been able to keep our turnover stable and expand our business with a wider range of products. What lessons have you learned? - There is a big difference in customer behaviour in the different countries. Our Swedish and Finnish customers are often more patient and understanding when something doesn't work properly, for example in the case of a delivery delay. Danish customers, on the other hand, set much higher standards and rarely tolerate that something can go wrong. Moreover - new markets bring new challenges. In addition to knowing your customers, it is crucial to know the essential laws and regulations that affect doing business in the new country. What has been most difficult about growing into other countries? - Freight rates are always a challenge and it is often the high freight rates that make it difficult to establish a business in a new country. It can also be a challenge to keep up the pace of translations into the different languages. First we write the Swedish text for an article and then we have to wait for translations into Danish and Finnish, which means there is always a bit of a backlog. What do you think of Abicart's e-commerce platform? - What is great is that you can easily add different languages and domains to your online shop and that all standard texts have already been translated. In addition, it was easy to get started and the price is very competitive. Niclas's five tips for those thinking of launching their web shop abroad: Find a reliable and long-term partner in the country you want to establish yourself in, who can take care of translations and customer service. Consider shipping prices and delivery times. Do not underestimate the cost of the translation work. Try to get free marketing through partnerships and targeted emails to press and journalists. If you have a small budget, try to get a cooperation agreement based on profit share instead of a fixed hourly fee. We thank Niclas for the chat and wish him the best of luck in the future! If you want to know more about Ekokul you can find their online shop here.

Surfers.se - "We are on the water all the time, that is the basis of our business"

8 Dec 2025

The story of Surfers began in 1985 when the economist and surfing enthusiast Helmer Willhar from Jönköping found an old milk shop in Varberg where he opened Surfshopen. Markus came in as a summer worker and was actually going to open his own competing business. However, he was persuaded by Helmer to become a co-owner of his Surfshop instead. And in that vein it became Surfers Paradise. In 2001, Markus met Patrik, who had previously worked with windsurfing sails. They then started importing surfboards from South Africa and still today resell to other stores via a giant warehouse. Surfer's history as an e-retailer actually also began in 1985 with their mail order catalog which continued until about 6 years ago when they completely switched to a webshop. The similarities are many, but today the flow of information is faster and the customers are more informed. They have been early with much such as e.g. Surfers TV, vlogs and they do everything themselves in-house. They write really good texts and spend a lot of time making films about their products, where they themselves talk about the properties of the product and give their own personal opinion about it. It creates confidence that they show that they use the product themselves and can do this. For the curious, I recommend following Surfers on Insta! Surfers Varberg Instagram“Our philosophy is to help customers have a really good experience”When I e-meet Patrik and Markus on a chilly November day, they have just returned from a surfing trip in Scania. There is no doubt that they are enthusiasts, and among their customers there are many who surf all year round. Not only Swedes who live or travel abroad, but also here at home in Sweden. In their well-stocked surfshop, they sell all kinds of surfboards, wetsuits, sun protection and accessories for water sports. Online sales are good this year as well, while the physical store is at full speed during the warm months. Today alone they have already sent over 40 packages. The largest sales take place on Swedish soil, but also some in the rest of the Nordic countries. The webshop is entirely in Swedish, so Swedes abroad account for the majority outside the Nordics. "We are happy with our size where we are and focus on the Swedish market" The surfboards are sent with home delivery via DHL. Although the goods are packed shock-resistant, they are quite sensitive to shipping and can be pinched in a door, run over by a truck or dropped. It is much easier to solve this within the EU. “Our main goal is to guide customers to the right product so they have real fun on the water” Many people visit the physical store in Varberg because it is unique, has a lot of products and solidly knowledgeable staff. The store has always had staff who are 100% dedicated to practicing the water sports they work with. They are saved surfers who spend their free time in the water. The store's opening hours are actually adapted to the water habits of the staff. They come into contact with many customers on the beaches, where they themselves spend their time. People come into the store to share their experiences and talk about their day on the water. So they have long been of enormous importance to their customers. Varberg used to be an obvious destination for surfers, but now it is more spread out and there are many places around the country. You follow the weather online, low pressure and wind directions. The advantage of having a webshop is that you can reach customers from far away. Often the customers who come to the store have been able to read up on it beforehand and it has been possible to provide some guidance via the website. Working hours can be adjusted so they can browse in the morning before the store opens. "We want to be able to be on the water and not just stand in a store" Having a webshop is seen as necessary today, customers expect it. Surfers have a Pro subscription to Abicart and have developed a customized solution together with our design team. When we have left the conversation, some of their interesting thought-provoking ideas linger, such as e.g. the future development of the online experience? I hope to continue the conversation with Markus and Patrik on site in their surfshop one day. Until then, I surf around their webshop and fish out awesome Christmas presents → Visit Surfers.se!

Humlegården

8 Dec 2025

Humlegårdens Ekolager was founded as a family business in 1992 by Eva Fahleson Ekelin and Svante Ekelin. Our business idea is to provide good raw materials, equipment and literature, and good service, for high-end homebrewers and small breweries. Since September 2020, Humlegården's Ekolager is part of the Caldic Group. Humlegårdens Ekolager has been a leader in its market in Sweden since its inception: high quality raw materials for small-scale brewers. Virtually all the medallists at the home brewing championships since the start in 1989 are customers of ours. A number of them have gone on to start small professional breweries, and we also supply malt, hops and yeast to most of Sweden's breweries. Of course, we have the same high quality goods for both professional brewers and homebrewers - it's just the quantity that differs. The hop farm in Ekskogen, Vallentuna, where we started the business and ran it for the first seventeen years, takes its name from the fact that hops were grown there in the old days. Ekolager refers to the fact that we store goods in a way that is both ecological and economical. Read our interview with Humlegården! Welcome to Humlegården's Organic Warehouse

Using the Abicart API and headless storefronts

28 Nov 2025

Abicart is designed not just for seamless, all-in-one e-commerce but also for advanced custom development through its powerful API. For businesses seeking ultimate flexibility, the Abicart API supports a modern "headless" commerce architecture, allowing you to decouple your store's presentation layer from its core backend logic. The Power of the Abicart API The Abicart API is a comprehensive, developer-first interface accessible with any active subscription. It allows users to programmatically interact with critical store components, known as Classes, using the secure JSON-RPC 2.0 protocol over HTTPS/WSS (WebSocket Secure). With the API, you gain the ability to: Manage Core Assets: Easily add, edit, and delete products (Articles), manage customer records, and process orders. Integrate Systems: Create customized connections with your company's internal tools, such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), and internal shipping or financial systems. Custom Development: Build and develop existing features or create entirely new applications tailored to your specific business needs. Embracing Headless Commerce Headless commerce is an architectural choice that separates your customer-facing storefront (the "head") from the e-commerce platform's transaction and inventory core (the "body"). Abicart's API is the engine that enables this, offering your business unmatched control and innovation opportunities. By utilizing the API in a headless setup, you can achieve significant advantages: Unrestricted Design: Develop a completely unique, highly branded customer experience using any modern frontend technology you choose (like React or Next.js) without being limited by the theme system. Omnichannel Reach: The same central commerce logic can power multiple digital touchpoints simultaneously, including your website, native mobile applications, or digital kiosks, ensuring a consistent brand experience everywhere. Performance and Speed: Decoupling the presentation layer allows you to optimize your frontend for superior performance and blazing-fast loading speeds, a critical factor for SEO and conversion rates. Flexibility and Agility: Your development teams can deploy changes to the storefront instantly, testing and iterating quickly without risking core commerce operations like checkout or payment processing. Whether you are integrating a simple third-party logistics solution, syncing inventory with an accounting system, or building a high-performance custom storefront, the Abicart API provides the reliable foundation needed to scale and customize your digital business ecosystem. Your shop ID and API key are the essential components for establishing a secure connection and can be easily managed within the Abicart admin panel under Settings > External Connections > API Keys.

Market-specific product pricing

28 Nov 2025

Abicart's pricing system offers the flexibility required to manage complex pricing strategies, allowing you to tailor your product offers for different markets, sales events, or customer segments. This functionality is essential for maximizing sales both domestically and internationally, as well as when running a B2B operation alongside a B2C store. The system is built around price lists, providing a powerful structure for all your product pricing needs. Targeted Pricing for Maximum Revenue Multiple Price Lists: You can create unlimited price lists to manage various pricing scenarios, including regular prices, special/extra prices, and tiered pricing. This feature is a core component of optimizing your sales strategy. Customer Group Pricing: For stores catering to different customer segments, such as private customers and retailers (B2B/B2C), you can create specific customer groups. Each group can be linked to its own unique price list, ensuring that logged-in members see customized pricing appropriate for their segment. Multi-Store Systems: When operating multiple online stores from a single platform (available with the PRO subscription), each sub-store can be independently connected to specific price lists. This allows for precise market-specific or brand-specific pricing across your business ecosystem. Efficient Price Management Managing prices across these different lists is designed to be streamlined and efficient: Scheduled Pricing: For sales events like Black Friday or seasonal promotions, you can schedule a price list to automatically activate and revert at specific dates and times, eliminating the need for manual updates during off-hours. Quantity-Based Pricing (Tiered Prices): Motivate customers to increase their average order value by setting up tiered pricing within a price list. The unit price decreases as the purchased quantity of a product increases, with the changes visible directly on the product page. Bulk Updates: Price lists can be updated manually directly in the administration interface or quickly via file import, making it simple to implement widespread price changes based on product groups or other criteria. This comprehensive approach to pricing ensures you maintain full control over your margins and offer competitive, market-relevant prices to every customer segment.

Seamless Setup in Abicart Once you have an agreement and the necessary API keys from your chosen TA provider, setting up the integration is straightforward within the Abicart admin panel under Settings → External Connections. To ensure a smooth synchronization, always make sure your products have the correct weight entered, as this is a fundamental requirement for most integrations to accurately calculate shipping and generate labels.

Order confirmation emails

28 Nov 2025

An order confirmation is more than just a receipt; it is an important customer touchpoint that reinforces trust and professionalism. Abicart's platform provides tools to customize the content of order confirmations and other email communications sent to your customers.Customizing Email Content Under Settings > [cite_start]Document and Email Content, you can access the Email Content tab to tailor your communications[cite: 780, 781]. [cite_start] Order Confirmations: Select which specific properties and details you want to display on the customer’s order confirmation[cite: 781]. [cite_start]You can also add a custom text for important notices or thank you messages to be included in the email[cite: 781]. [cite_start] Receipts: Customize the properties shown on the customer's receipt, including adding your own supplementary text[cite: 782]. Delivery Confirmations: Activate automatic delivery confirmations. [cite_start]When an order is marked as sent in your admin, an email will be dispatched to the customer[cite: 782, 1047, 1406]. [cite_start]This confirmation can be especially valuable if you include the tracking number for package traceability[cite: 242, 243, 1410]. Delivery and Tracking Information Providing immediate tracking information is key to customer satisfaction. When an order is exported for automatic freight booking (e.g., via integration with Postnord or nShift), the tracking number is sent back to Abicart. [cite_start]When you subsequently mark the order as "sent," the tracking number can be automatically included in the delivery confirmation email (if activated)[cite: 242, 1410, 1450]. [cite_start]Even if you book transportation manually, you can enter the carrier and tracking number on the order page in the admin, and this information will be shared with the customer via their customer login on "My Pages"[cite: 241, 244, 246, 248]. [cite_start]You can guide the customer to log in to their account to find the "Track shipment" link[cite: 246, 247, 248]. Secure and Reliable Sending Abicart employs specific measures to ensure your order confirmations reach their destination reliably and are not flagged as spam: [cite_start] Return Address: By default, order confirmation copies sent to the store owner use a specialized return address (shop-orders@abicart.se) to minimize spam risks[cite: 786]. Sender Authentication: To bolster email deliverability and legitimacy, you can create and add an SPF (Sender Policy Framework) record in your DNS configuration. [cite_start]This explicitly authorizes Abicart to send emails on your behalf, reducing the chance of them being flagged as spam or phishing[cite: 795, 796, 805, 806]. [cite_start]For enhanced control, especially in multi-store systems, the language of the printouts, like picking lists and delivery notes, can be set to either the administrator's language or the customer's language used when placing the order[cite: 783, 784].

Create a "sticky header" in Abicart

27 Nov 2025

Complete your web shop with a sticky header in Abicart! With a sticky header, your customers can easily navigate your website and find the products they are looking for. Abicart offers an easy to use and customizable sticky header that is perfect for improving the user experience. Try it today and see the results!A "sticky header" is a type of web design where a header section on a web page remains visible and fixed on the screen, even when the user scrolls down the page. This can be useful to give the user easy access to navigation links or other important information, without having to scroll up to find it again.To make your header sticky in Abicart, you can add the given CSS code to your site's stylesheet. The code uses the new "sticky" positioning property of CSS, which is available in most modern browsers. This property causes the element to be "stuck" to the screen as long as there is space, but returns to its original position when there is no more space.The given CSS code also defines a "top" property of 0, which means that the header element will be attached to the top of the screen. If you want the header element to be attached at a different position, you can specify a different value for the top property, e.g. "top: 20px" to attach the element 20 pixels from the top of the screen.Finally, the code also defines a "z-index" property of 1000. The z-index is used to determine which element should be displayed on top of other elements on a web page, based on their position in the z-axis (which runs from foreground to background). By setting a high z-index value on the header element, we ensure that it is always displayed on top of other elements on the page, which can be useful if there are other elements that may cover the header element when scrolling.This is how it looks in the code together:.nordic--header {    position: -webkit-sticky;    position: -moz-sticky;    position: -o-sticky;    position: -ms-sticky;    position: sticky;    top: 0;    z-index: 1000;}

Improve your store's SEO and check the published page

27 Nov 2025

Make your store's pages understandable for customers and search engines, and check that the correct content and address are actually displayed. This guide is for store administrators and content managers in Go, Plus, and Pro. It describes basic page content and SEO fields. The placement of product, group, page, and theme fields may differ between editors; select the correct page type, language, sub-store, and active theme. No setting guarantees a specific ranking, traffic, or sales. 1. Choose the page's purpose and relevant search queries SEO is about making content accessible and relevant in organic search results. Paid ads are a separate traffic source. Organic clicks have no direct ad cost per click, but content and technical work still cost time and money. Start with the customer's actual question: a product purchase, a category choice, or a guide. "Buy camera" and "camera for nature photography" may require different content. Write useful product information and natural links; repeated keywords or large amounts of generic text are no substitute for relevance. 2. Fill in the correct fields SectionLocation and checkGeneral domain/SEO choicesSettings → Domains and SEO. Check how general templates are used for the current page type.ProductAssortment → Products → correct product. Name, description, identifiers, images, and group should match the item.Product groupAssortment → Product groups → correct group. Check the group text and any custom layout.Custom pagePages → correct page/editor. Check the title, meta description, language, visibility, and URL.ImagesUse the image type's actual alt field, not an arbitrary text field. Title and meta description Write a unique and descriptive page title that fits the content and helps the customer choose the right page. The visible main heading and the HTML title are different elements. Google may create a different title link than the one you suggest. The meta description summarizes the page's benefit and can be used for the search result's snippet, but Google may choose text from the page itself. It is not a direct ranking factor in itself. There are no general ranking requirements for exactly 40–60 title characters or 130–150 description characters; the space and context of the search result vary. Meta keywords, headings, and images Google does not use meta keywords for indexing or ranking, even if the words match the content. Focus your efforts on customer-friendly text instead. Use a clear main heading and logical H2/H3 sections. There is no ranking requirement for a maximum of four or five H2s. H4–H6 are used when the hierarchy requires it, not to distribute keywords. Write alt text based on the image's function and relevant content; 120–150 characters is not a universal limit. Filenames are additional descriptive information but do not replace alt text. A stable name that describes the image is better than meaningless codes, but a certain number of words in the filename does not guarantee any placement. Do not change existing public file addresses without managing their links. 3. Check URL, canonical, and indexing Open the actual published page in the correct language and sub-store.Check the title, meta description, main heading, content, and actual image alt text.Check that the page's intended URL and canonical tag point correctly. A currently rendered canonical tag and an older index entry are different observations. When changing a URL: map old links and check the actual redirect, status code, and destination. Support for moved URLs does not mean that every possible change automatically creates a correct 301.Use your own verified Search Console account for URL inspection, indexing issues, and relevant sitemap/canonical information when needed. Do not request indexing to hide an incorrect address or canonical tag. 4. Follow up on the right metrics and prioritize quality Impressions show views in search results; clicks and CTR describe visits from them. CTR is clicks divided by impressions and is also affected by the query, position, and design. Indexing, ranking, clicks, and purchases are different metrics. Compare relevant queries and landing pages over time, without fixed time or placement promises. Relevant, natural links from trustworthy contexts can help customers find what they need. Do not buy or exchange manipulative links to promise ranking. Mobile usability, understandable navigation, and reasonable loading times are also important parts of quality. Accessibility is a separate check Correct alternative texts, heading structure, and a functioning interface help more customers. Applicable accessibility rules for e-commerce may, among other things, follow the LPTT and EU directive 2019/882 with special conditions of application and exceptions. Directive 2016/2102 for the public sector is not a general legal description for all online stores. An SEO checklist does not prove compliance; see PTS's guidance for the correct business activity. Quick startChoose the customer query and the correct page type.Write a relevant title, description, headings, and image alt text.Check the current public URL, canonical tag, and indexability.Follow up on relevant impressions, clicks, and purchases separately. Subscription and accessBasic content/SEO work applies to Go, Plus, and Pro. Check the correct editor and page/language version; package access does not make a hidden or misaddressed page indexable and does not guarantee any ranking.

Northmill Flo: connection, inventory master and safe sync

27 Nov 2025

The Northmill Flo integration connects the webshop's products and sales to the POS system. It is available in Abicart Pro, where one selected business system integration is included, and requires an active Northmill agreement. First, decide which system will control the stock balance. The correct settings and how inventory changes are processed depend on that choice. Choose an inventory master before activationInventory masterBasic flowCheck AbicartProduct/balance changes are transferred from Abicart to Northmill. POS sales are retrieved through Import POS receipts (inventory changes) according to your schedule.Receipt import is intended for this inventory master. Do not select regular order import to retrieve POS sales. Northmill Flo, sometimes called MorefloAbicart's web orders are transferred to Northmill with order export. Inventory updates from Northmill need to reach Abicart through the activated connection.Receipt import is not shown as the same solution in this mode. Check that both web purchases and POS purchases reach the system that controls the stock balance. We recommend a clear inventory master, not the Both mode. Updating a sale and a manual inventory count are different events. If only the inventory count is missing, describe just that to support; do not activate another import job at random. Prepare the product rangeProducts, prices, customers and stock balances can be transferred. Product groups and images are not exported through this connection. Each product and each variant needs a unique item number (SKU) that matches in both systems. Products without an item number cannot be exported.Create product options (customer choices) and their variants in Abicart and export them from there. Product import from Northmill creates individual products; it does not automatically create a main product with product options. For new item numbers, letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores are a suitable simple format. Do not change all already used numbers just because one contains /. Regular products, variants and bundle products need separate assessment. If special characters cause sync problems, give support the product type and exact item number so they can check what your connection supports. Before deleting a product: deletion can also affect the product and its variants in Northmill. If it is to remain in the POS system, the sync must first be disconnected in a coordinated manner. Get help before you delete or clear article numbers on an active integration. Connect and activate step by stepSign an agreement with Northmill and ask for the integration details. Check Abicart Pro and that Northmill is your selected included business system integration. See current packages and prices in Swedish or English and Northmill's integration overview (Swedish); have Northmill confirm your agreement and connection details.Open Settings > External Connections > Moreflo. Moreflo is the older name that may be displayed in Admin. Contact Abicart Support if the connection is missing.Fill in the details under Account Settings and save. The pre-filled fields should not be changed without reconciliation.Select the inventory master and the relevant sales/VAT settings. Ask the person responsible for finances to confirm how goods, services, and fees should be classified.Save and check for warnings about missing or duplicate item numbers. Reconcile them before the first major export.See resolve item numbers for Northmill regarding duplicates or missing numbers. Do not change the connections to already sold items without checking the consequences. Reconcile starting inventory and first exportSelect the balance that matches your physical inventory and correct the information before starting. Make an export/backup of the existing product range and balance in Northmill.Schedule a time without POS sales during the actual transfer. Verify that you are authorized to make the changes that the export entails.Keep your selected inventory master for the first product export. Activate product export and use Initial exports > Export all products when such a transfer is intended. Do not switch to Abicart as a temporary export step. With Northmill as the inventory master, a normal product export does not send Abicart's stock balance, but names, prices, and active status can still be overwritten and missing products created. Only transfer balance from Abicart when Abicart is explicitly the source for reconciled starting balances.Wait for the transfer to actually complete and reconcile the result. Do not use a general waiting time as proof that it is finished.Keep the same inventory master and activate the correct events as described below. Coordinate an actual change of inventory master before sales resume; do not do it in the middle of ongoing sales. If Northmill's inventory is the starting point, a file transfer may need to be adapted for Abicart's product import, particularly for customer choices. The initial inventory reconciliation is a separate task from ongoing receipt or order transfers. Ask support to help plan it if you are unsure. Activate the correct ongoing eventsAbicart as inventory master: activate Export products on add or change and Import cash receipts (stock changes). Select a schedule for receipt import, for example every hour, and check that both activation and execution are selected.Northmill as the inventory master: activate the intended product export and Export order. Reconcile which data product updates are allowed to overwrite and check the stock update back to Abicart.Test and see that it succeededUse an agreed test setup; purchases can affect payment, accounting, and stock. Note the item number, variant/package, order/receipt reference, and balance before and after. Check both a web purchase and a POS sale in the setup you have chosen. TestAbicart before/afterNorthmill before/afterReference and timeAn item is purchased in the webshop10 → 910 → 9Note actual referenceAnother item is sold at the POS5 → 45 → 4Note actual receipt The values are examples only. Wait for the actual scheduled run or transfer, read the status, and compare the same items in both systems. An AI confirmation or a saved setting choice does not indicate that the stock is reconciled.Integration settingsThe screenshots show examples of the integration's settings. Proceed to the named section you need before changing a field. Some images show Swedish menu texts; use the setting names in the text to find the corresponding fields. Here we go through the integration's settings:Settings >> External connections >> Moreflo (Northmill was previously called Moreflo)If Moreflo is missing under External connections: follow the section Connect and activate step by step and contact support if the connection is still missing.Remember to SAVE with the green button when you have changed a settingSettingsActiveTo access all the integration's settings, check this box >> Save. The sync between the systems only starts when you activate the event settings.Account settingsHere you enter the API keys you get from Northmill (Username and password) >> SaveSpecial productsThese fields are automatically filled in. Do not edit manually.Inventory management (inventory master)Select the system where you want to manage the products' stock balance:- Abicart or Moreflo (Northmill)*We advise against using "Both". It is always most stable to let one system decide.Sales and operating income accountsFill in the VAT rates that are relevant for your store. Select a suitable option in the drop-down list.Item = goodsService = ServicesFee = ServicesExample: For items with 25% VAT, select the corresponding product account with 25% VAT. If you also sell books subject to 6% VAT, you also need to select the corresponding product account with 6% VAT. Set up every VAT rate that is actually used; have the person responsible for finances confirm the classification and any exceptions.Fees cover VAT handling for shipping and need to be configured. Services with 25% VAT is an example of when this VAT handling applies to your shipping; do not use the same selection as a general rule for all stores. Have the person responsible for finances and the person responsible for the integration confirm the correct option for your setup.Initial exports--> Export all productsThis setting is configured last of all, if the product range is to be exported (see image below).*The setting requires that you have "Export products" enabled. To enable the setting:Check the box >> SaveEnable only if you want to send all products from Abicart >> Northmill (if you have Abicart as the inventory master, the stock status is also sent).NOTE! Product information in Northmill will be overwritten with product information from Abicart. Only the SKUs that exist in both Abicart and Northmill are updated. If a product only exists in Abicart, it is exported + created in Northmill. SKUs that only exist in Northmill remain untouched. Are you going to run this export with a previously active integration?- Run an export in Northmill first!Since Abicart overwrites Northmill products with the same SKU that exist in Abicart, it's a good idea to export the product range in Northmill before you run the export. A product that is inactive in Northmill but active in Abicart will become active again during the export.--> Export all customersTo enable the setting:Check the box >> SaveEnable only if you want to send all customers from Abicart >> Northmill*The setting requires that you have "Export customer registry" enabled.Event settingsExport product on add/changeActivation = Inactive / Product updated (including stock balance)Execution = Inactive / Update immediatelyChange to "Product updated" and "Update immediately" to enable the setting.*When this is active, products are exported from Abicart >> Northmill when added or changed. This setting is recommended so that products with customer choices are created correctly. Exporting products Abi >> NMF saves you time because you do not need to edit the product in two places:The product is created in Abicart with all the information it needs in the webshop. Information that can be exported to Northmill is sent there (name, item number (SKU), price, etc.). You can then add other settings to the product in Northmill, but information that can be exported through the integration must be edited in Abicart and exported to Northmill. If, for example, you change the product name in NMF, Abicart will overwrite it the next time the product is exported Abi >> NMF.Export customer listActivation = Inactive / Customer.(changed|created|deleted)Execution = Inactive / Update immediately*Keep inactive if you do not want to export the Abicart customer registry >> Northmill. We recommend starting the integration with this setting inactive. You can always enable it later if you want to sync customers.Export orderActivation = Inactive / The order has been changedExecution = Inactive / Update immediately*Activate only when using Northmill (Moreflo) for inventory managementProduct importActivation = Inactive / Scheduled activationExecution = Inactive / Scheduled (enter cron string) *Then set to e.g. 1 time/hour*Products are imported as individual products. Product import from Northmill cannot build a main product with product-option variants. Create those products in Abicart, either through product-options import or manually in Admin. Read more about product options here.Import order*Used to import orders created manually in Northmill. NOT for importing POS sales. To sync inventory balance, use the setting "Import POS receipts (inventory changes)".Activation = Inactive / Scheduled activationExecution = Inactive / Scheduled (enter cron string) *Then set to e.g. 1 time/hourOption = Enter the payment method* to be registered for the order importCreate or select an internal payment method, for example, manual invoice, and enter it in the order import job. It can be named Northmill invoice and be inactive in the customer checkout, but the name does not determine the type. The import requires an internal payment method for the order to be created correctly.Import POS receipts (inventory changes)In a multi-store system, you also select the sub-store where the receipt items will be created. Check the target sub-store before starting the import.*This setting is only visible when using Abicart for inventory management.*This is the setting to activate to sync inventory balance from Northmill >> Abicart when using Abicart for inventory managementActivation = Scheduled activationExecution = Scheduled (enter cron string) *Then set to e.g. 1 time/hourOptions*Used in specific cases IF you want to import previous receipts (from before the integration was activated) Import all receipts created since - specify time interval (7-90 days)Import historical receipts - Check the box to activate >> Save the integration pageNOTE! This setting is used in exceptional cases and with caution.Which product details can be changed?Depending on the direction, item type, and inventory master, the transfer can include sales class, item number, inventory balance, supplier's item number, name, product text, unit, barcode/EAN, purchase price, sales price, item type, active/webshop visible/stock item, and weight. Check an example in your setup; an update is not always limited to the balance. An inactive product in Northmill can become active again if an active Abicart product is exported. Data controlled by the export should be changed in the source system; otherwise, a local correction in the target system may be overwritten next time. Troubleshoot without duplicate inventory movementsAfter a failed receipt import: verify exactly which receipts are missing and if their inventory movements have already been corrected manually. Do not assume that the next scheduled run will fetch older, failed receipts. Ask support to check receipt references, the last import time, and a limited history interval before activating historical import. Do not make the same inventory correction both manually and through import.SymptomNext checkThe product or order is missingCheck for a unique item number, active export job, triggering event, and if the object already exists with another connection. Specify regular product, variant, or bundle.POS sales do not change Abicart's stock.Check the inventory master first. If Abicart is the inventory master: check the receipt import schedule and the last run. If Northmill is the inventory master: ask support to check the intended stock update.Manual stocktaking is missing, but sales are working.Note exactly which change is missing and when it was made. This is a different flow from a POS receipt. Ask support to confirm whether your connection supports that specific stocktaking change; do not select an invented stock-import job.Item numbers with / or a bundle item do not work.Do not bulk change item numbers as a first step. Ask support to check the item type, current connection, and any older failed transfers.Errors have been corrected and old events are pending.Reconcile already imported orders/receipts and manual balance adjustments before running anything again. The same sale must not decrease the stock twice.Send the store, inventory master, direction, item type/number, order/receipt reference, time, observed balances, and error message to support. Specify what you have already corrected manually. Do not send API passwords or customer registers. Quick startMatch item numbers and reconcile the actual stock before the first transfer.Choose an inventory master: Abicart or Northmill Flo. Only activate the jobs that belong to that setup.Check one item and an agreed-upon test sale in both directions before the entire flow is put into use.In case of an error: note the item type, number, order/receipt reference, and time. Do not resend all old orders before previous stock adjustments have been reconciled. Subscription and accessThe Northmill Flo connection is available in Abicart Pro as a choice among the included business system integrations and requires an active Northmill agreement. Choose an inventory master and use the transfers that belong to that setup. Agreement, feature access, and actual sync results are separate checks.

Integration med Specter

27 Nov 2025

Using a modern, web-based ERP system gives you the freedom to work wherever and whenever you want, on both PC and Mac. NOTE! The integration to Specter is included in Abicart PRO. For the integration to work, all products must have unique product numbers, including the customer's choice (sizes/colors) if used. The product number must not contain special characters such as å, ä, ö, &, %, ¤, #, €, etc. as well as spaces and commas. Instead of spaces, use hyphens, underscores or write the item number together. The base currency of the shop must be SEK. For support or questions about this integration, please contact customer service. Please note that the integration does not support exporting product packages. Activate Specter in the store Go to Settings -> External Connections -> Specter NOTE! When you check "Active", an initial product export Abicart >> Specter will be initiated. This means that products incl. its price will be sent to Specter. If the product does not exist in Specter, it will be created. Order confirmation from Textalk Webshop will then not be sent to the customer. HOW DOES THE LINK WORK? Export of orders New in this link is that your order number in Specter is displayed on the order in Textalk Webshop. Discounts are sent as separate order lines with minus balances to Specter. Gift cards are also sent as a separate order line, which means that it is possible to see all payment methods on an order in Specter when a customer has paid with a gift card. Order editing and Specter If you edit an order and a product is added or removed, the stock balance will be adjusted automatically in Abicart but not be synced to Specter. You need to change the stock balance manually in Specter. Article export Initial export When all settings are made and the link is activated, an initial export will be made from Textalk Webshop to Specter. All existing items that have unique item numbers will then be exported. If one or more items already exist in Specter, these will be updated with any new information on the item. If one or more items do not have an item number, these will not be exported to Specter. Note that it is not allowed to use spaces in the item number. Existing and new articles If Item Transfer is activated, items are exported to Specter when they are changed in Textalk Webshop. If an item has the same item number in Textalk Webshop and Specter, the item in Specter is updated directly with the new information (price, name, etc.).If there is no item with the same item number in Specter, a new item will be created in Specter. Stock management must be active on items in Textalk Webshop at the first time of export in order for stock to be synchronized from Specter to Textalk Webshop. Connect the delivery methods between the store and Specter To connect the store's delivery methods with Specter, you need to find out the delivery methods' ID numbers. To do this, log in to Textalk and then go to Settings -> Shipping and delivery. Click on the delivery method you want to add to Specter. The delivery method ID number will then appear in the browser's address window on the far right. You then enter this ID number in the "External key" field of the delivery method in Specter. See image below.

Integration with Unifaun Web-TA

27 Nov 2025

Automatic export of orders to manage and book transports in Unifaun Web-TA.OBS! Unifaun has been replaced by nShift. Integration with Unifaun Web-TA Unifaun Web-TA is a simple and efficient Transport Administration (TA) system. The system is designed to suit most businesses, from the smallest who ship an occasional parcel to those who ship more than a thousand parcels a day. ⚠️ Note: All items must have a weight in order for orders to be exported to Unifaun. You can either enter the weight manually on each item or via import. If you need help, please contact our support. What are the benefits of Unifaun Web-TA? The integration with Unifaun Web-TA simplifies and streamlines the entire booking process. Instead of making bookings in Unifaun Web-TA, you can create the basis directly in Textalk Webshop and the relevant information is then automatically transferred to Unifaun Web-TA. In addition to a simpler booking procedure, this also minimises the risk of manual errors (the "human factor"). Features Postal advance Notification of last pick-up time Support for multiple parcels/packages per shipment Language: English/Swedish Automatic tracking information of parcels to customer Notifications via SMS, e-mail, post or fax (depending on carrier) How do I join the service? Click here to order the service. If you have any questions or need help with registration, the easiest way is to call Unifaun directly: 08 729 88 50. Activation of the service As soon as you are connected to the service, you will be sent login details and integration settings. You will need to enter these details in the Textalk Webshop-admin administration interface: Go to "Settings → External connections → Unifaun Web-TA".Tick the Active box and fill in the data provided by Unifaun Web-TA. Templates This field only needs to be filled in if a custom template has been created in Unifaun Web-TA. If you have created a template, enter the same name as the template in Unifaun Web-TA. It will then be available under "Delivery methods". Please note that the name must be the same as in Unifaun Web-TA. Each delivery method can be linked to its own template. Activate the settings of the delivery method Once activated, the integration should work fully automatically. You therefore need to link it to your delivery methods. You will probably have different settings depending on which delivery method the customer chooses. For example, if you offer an option where the customer can pick up the order in person, Unifaun Web-TA should not be used. Go to "Settings → Shipping and delivery" and click on the delivery method, then scroll down to "Event settings Unifaun Web-TA". Export order Select when the order should be exported to Unifaun: When the order is placed When it is marked as paid Manually (export button on the order) If "inactive" is selected, Unifaun integration is not active for this delivery method. The "Run" field should always be set to "Update directly".

27 Nov 2025

The list is needed for the link to be activated, but it does not need to contain any subscribers at this stage.Activate MailchimpEnter your company detailsSettings -> Store information -> Store information / Company information. To ensure that the mailings come from a secure source and are not classified as spam, certain store details are mandatory, in accordance with Mailchimp's rules. The following information is mandatory:E-mail addressAddress line 1LocationPostal codeCountryConnect your store to MailchimpGo to Settings -> External Connections -> Mailchimp.Click on "Connect to Mailchimp" and fill in your Mailchimp login. If the login is correct, you will now see "Connected to Mailchimp account, [Store name].Underneath, a box with "Store settings" will appear. Create a custom page and make it available in the store

27 Nov 2025

Build an information page with the right content, language, and visibility, and link it where the customer can find it. This guide applies to store administrators in Go, Plus, and Pro. Custom pages are included in all three packages, but the page editor varies. Select the current store/sub-store and check if you see the older My Pages editor or the newer block editor before following the steps. A theme name is not enough to determine the editor version. Video overview of the older page editor:Before you save: In the older page editor, Save can change an already visible page directly. Do not expect a separate publishing step. Prepare major changes on a separate working copy and check the page's visibility before saving. The page's visibility setting is shared across its language versions, so check all affected languages when you change it. A page without a menu link is not private. Do not put sensitive information or private files on the page; hiding it from the menu is not a substitute for access control. 1. Choose page type and the right editor Under Pages you will find custom information pages, system pages, and custom product group pages. Use a custom page for things like 'About Us' or 'Find Us'; modify the intended system page for things like the contact form or terms and conditions. Older My Pages Open Pages → My Pages and select New Page. Fill in the page's basic information: Title: a clear name for the page's purpose.Meta description: describe the content. An empty value may be inherited from Settings → Domains and SEO.Visibility: choose if the page should be hidden or available. This is separate from a menu link.Name in URL: is created from the title. Check the existing address and links before changing a name/URL; do not change established addresses without handling affected links and any necessary redirection.Meta keywords: an older field. Google does not use meta keywords for ranking; prioritize content, title, and usability. Newer block editor If you see the block editor instead, create the page there and select the blocks that are actually available in your version. The model's blocks include products, product groups, HTML, showcases, slideshows, FAQ, text/image, tabs, forms, map, video, and button. Do not use old My Pages button names as if they apply there. Check the page's language, store, and availability in the selected editor. 2. Add content in the older My Pages Select Add content and use Products, Product groups, or Custom text/HTML depending on the task. Products Selecting Products creates a product list block. Open the block's heading for settings. Heading: text above the products.Type: list or grid.Selection method: automatic or manual selection.Linked to: for automatic selection, you choose the entire assortment, product group, special offer, or new arrivals according to the fields in your version. Product groupsChoose which group to display and the sorting order: alphabetical or the order set under Assortment → Product groups. Custom text/HTMLUse for text and images or supported embeds, such as YouTube. Do not insert arbitrary code from unknown sources. Older versions might instead show Product group table, Product list, Product table, Full-width product, and Optional text/image; select the corresponding content in the editor you actually see. 3. Choose the right system or product group page System pages are created for the store's functions. The exact list may evolve; use the one displayed in your store. Common examples are 404 page, special offers, new products, search page, Terms & info, contact form, and return request. The terms and conditions page may need to be available for certain payment methods. The contact form's fixed fields are name, email, optional phone number, subject, and message. For a custom product group page, you can open the group in this view or under Assortment → Product groups → the group → Appearance. 4. Check mobile layout and semantics Check the page's visibility before saving and then preview it on narrow and wide screens. Fixed widths in images, tables, or third-party embeds can cause horizontal scrolling. Only change a component's code when you understand its function. ImagesIn the older text editor, the icon <> shows HTML. These images show an older example with fixed dimensions and a corrected version: Do not routinely remove all image dimensions. A common responsive setup is max-width:100%; height:auto with correct dimensions/aspect ratio preserved. Check how your theme and the selected component actually render the image. Tables and embedsHere is a table and its older code example: Changing a table from a fixed width to 100 percent and four columns to 25 percent might help that specific example, but long words and fixed cell dimensions can still make the table too wide. Use the component's responsive table support or a functional scroll container and check on mobile. A third-party embed may need its own responsive container, not just a changed percentage. Title and headingsGive the page a unique, descriptive title. The title in search results and the visible main heading are different elements: Choose a clear main heading and avoid creating extra main headings just for larger text. Use H2 for main steps and H3 for subsections, and use paragraphs and proper lists for the content. 5. Save, choose language, and link the page Check the correct store/sub-store and language version before saving. Changes to a visible page may appear immediately; the page's visibility setting is shared across language versions. Make sure the intended language is also public.Check the page's availability/visibility and open its actual URL.Then, add a link in the active theme's menu or on a relevant page.Check both the direct link and the navigation as a visitor. A page without a menu link is not automatically hidden or access-protected. A menu link does not make a hidden or unpublished page available. The main store's content also does not mean that every sub-store has the same language version and publication status. Quick startChoose the right store, page type, and editor.Create content with a clear title, headings, and the correct language.Check visibility, URL, and mobile layout.Check the shared visibility and affected languages, save, and add a working link in the correct active theme. Subscription and accessCustom pages are available in Go, Plus, and Pro. The block selection and editing steps depend on the page editor/version; the menu link's location depends on the active theme. Check the sub-store and public language separately.

Product monitoring

Languages

27 Nov 2025

Enable and manage multiple languages in the store. How do languages work in Abicart? When you start the demo shop, there is one language active and it is Swedish. If you want to have more languages in the shop, you can easily activate this under Settings -> Languages. What should I keep in mind when activating multiple languages? Standard words and phrases in for example the checkout are already translated but keep in mind that all products, product groups, custom content and themes need to be translated. You can do this manually or via import. More on this later in this article.Short film: enable multiple languages in your webshopEnable multiple languagesGo to Settings -> Languages. In the "Language settings" block there is a list of all languages. Select the language you want to add and click "Add", for example English. There is now a new block under English called "ENG: English". The language is hidden by default and the reason is to be able to translate the language before it is activated. There are also some other settings you can make:» Ange som standardActivationChoose to activate and hide the language. If hidden is selected, only the language is shown in admin.Do not activate a new language until all products, product groups, custom pages and the theme have been translated.Default currencySelect a default currency for the selected language." Delete this languageA link to delete the language. All translations for this language will be deleted if you delete the language. If you activate a new language and do not translate all products, the product will still be displayed but the name and description will be empty. You cannot therefore exclude certain products in a particular language but all products will be displayed in all languages.Use export and import to translate a new languageIf you have a lot of texts to be translated, it may be easier to do this in Excel than to go through the pages manually one-by-one in the administration. Then you can export a text file with the product ID and the base language and then enter the translations in a third column.Go to Settings -> Languages -> "Export" tab. Here are some selections you need to make before the file can be exported.Which language do you want to translate from?If you have the shop in Swedish and want to add English as a new language, select "Swedish (base language)" here. Then the Swedish texts will be displayed in a column in the file so that you can easily see which text will be translated into English.Which file format do you prefer? Here you have to choose which format the file should be exported to. There are three different ones to choose from:CSV - This is the most common format for a text file and can be opened in any spreadsheet program and works on Windows, Mac and most other operating systems.ODS - If you use the free Libre Office (or Open Office) software, you can choose this format.XLSX - If you use Excel, choose this format. If you are sending your texts for translation to a translation company, you should choose CSV as the format. If you are translating the texts yourself and use Excel as your spreadsheet, choose XLSX as the format. What data do you want to include?Select the different properties of the store that you want to translate. If you have several different themes, you can choose between all of them at the bottom. By default, the active theme is exported. Then click on the export button and save the file on your computer. What does the file look like and how do I translate?Once you have exported a file and opened it in Excel (or whatever spreadsheet program you use), the file should look something like this.It contains three columns:KeyThis is the ID number that identifies the text. The text in this column must not be changed.ContentColumn B contains the basic language texts. These are the texts to be translated.TranslationIn column C you enter the translation of the texts in column B (content).Once the translation column has been translated, save the file.Importing translationsOnce you have translated a file, you can import it under Settings -> Language -> Import. There is a choice to be made here first.Choose language to importIf you have translated English and want to import it as a new language, you must first add the language under Settings -> Language (it may still be hidden). Then select the language from the list here.Select the file you want to importSelect the file with the translation from your computer and then click on the import button in the top right corner. Then just wait for the import to finish.

Currency

27 Nov 2025

Activate multiple currencies, link currencies to each other, automatically updated exchange rates. How do currencies work in Abicart? All shops must have at least one currency for everything to work. If you have multiple currencies, you choose one currency as your base currency. How many currencies can I have in my shop? We support around 30 different currencies (SEK, EUR, USD, GBP and NOK are the most popular) and there is no limit to the number of currencies you can use. See a list of currencies hereMake sure that the payment methods you use in the shop support the shop's active currencies. Contact the respective payment company to find out which currencies are supported. How do I set the currencies?Go to Settings -> CurrenciesBy default, SEK is already enabled in the store and is displayed as a separate block. The name of the currency is on the left. In the middle there are three icons:A house - shows that this is the shop's current base currencyAn eye - Shows that the currency is visible in the shop.An open padlock - This shows that the currency is manual and not locked to another currency. To the right of the block is an icon with an arrow, click on it and the whole SEK block will fold out. Here you can see the settings for the points we went through above. Settings for a base currency, visible/hidden, and manual/locked. If you only have one currency activated, you don't need to make any settings here, everything is already set correctly. Enable multiple currenciesUnder Settings -> Currencies there is a block at the top titled "Currency settings". There is a list of all supported currencies. In this example, we already have SEK as the base currency and we add EUR as a second currency. Select "EUR: Euro" from the list and then click on "Add".  The currency is now displayed in a separate block below the base currency that is prepended. The following settings are available: EuroThe name of the currency is displayed as well as a link, "Set as default". If you want to use this currency as the base currency (instead of SEK which is already the base currency), click on the link. ActivationBy default, all new currencies you add are hidden. This is so that you can add prices for all products, shipping costs, etc. In order for the currency to be visible in the shop and to be used, you must tick the "Visible" box." Remove this currencyAll currencies that are not base currencies have a link called "Delete this currency". It simply deletes the currency from the store. Pricing If you have multiple currencies there are two ways to set prices, manual or convert. The base currency is always "manual" which means that you have to enter specific prices for all products, shipping costs, etc. By converting prices, you link the currency to the base currency or another manual currency and do not have to enter prices manually for all products in the new currency. In this example, we want to link EUR to SEK. We select "Convert prices" and two new settings appear on the right. Currency exchangeHere a list of all manual currencies is shown and you can choose a currency to which you want to link this currency. In our example, we have only SEK as manual currency and it is already selected. RoundingHere is a function where you can choose to round the prices after they have been converted from the selected currency. Whole numbers, tens, hundreds, or no rounding. This will not work with manual currency Manual or automatic exchange rate?On the right-hand side of the top block of the page are the settings for "Manage exchange rates". The exchange rate is automatically updated dailyThis option allows the European Central Bank to automatically update the currencies every day according to the current exchange rate. Set the exchange rate manually for each currencyThis setting allows you to set your own exchange rate for each pegged currency. Keep in mind that currencies can rise and fall quickly, so if you have manually set exchange rates, you must keep track of the current rates and adjust them manually at regular intervals. Otherwise, there is a risk of having rates that are too low or too high. We recommend using the "Exchange rate automatically updated daily" setting to prevent this.

Pricing files

Price file (product feed) to various price comparison services such as Prisjakt, Pricerunner, Ciao, Kelkoo and Prisvis. What is a price file?To list your products on external sites, such as price comparison sites, you need a product file (or product feed) that you upload to the external site. These price files can vary a bit but are usually text files (CSV) or XML files. If it is a product feed, you usually enter a URL to the products. The file/feed contains product information: product name, description, link to product images, price, etc.To access a price file/feed for Google Shopping, Facebook Catalog, and Instagram, an additional service, "Product feed for Google Shopping and Facebook Catalog" is required and can be purchased in the store under "My subscription".Which price files do you support? At the moment we have ready-made solutions for Prisjakt, Pricerunner, Ciao, Kelkoo, and Prisvis. Consent to Cookies

27 Nov 2025

Cookies are small data files that are stored in your customer's browser by the website, to keep track of their activities on your pages and save their personal preferences. They can store unique identifiers to recognise your customer's browser and personalise their experience. For information on Google Consent Mode version 2, read more here. Why do we use the cookie consent policy? As a seller, cookies are essential to understand your customers' behavior. This data is important for improving your website and making it more accessible to visitors.Cookies can store different information such as language, currency, etc. They can also track online activity and customize ads accordingly. This helps you create a more personalized experience for each visitor. The data differs for each website and the services used by them. When collecting cookies, it is of course important to respect the visitor's privacy. The cookie consent policy allows your visitors to control the information they share by giving them a choice to accept or reject cookies. No information is sent or tracked until the visitor makes a choice in the cookie policy pop-up window. This means that the visitor must explicitly choose "Accept" for the cookie to collect and track their data. By accepting cookies, their website will resume all normal functions and work as expected without any restrictions. The features restricted by the new behavior are listed below.Once rejected, they can always "accept" it at any time by clicking on the "Cookie icon" in the top right corner of the web page. This will trigger the automatic data collection and the normal cookie function will resume. All pending cookies that are not essential are put back. Those visitors who have already accepted cookies in the old behavior will not be affected by the current change. If they want to reject it, they can do so by clicking on the cookie icon in the top right corner of the page.By default, the website's cookie policy is set to "Reject", i.e. no data is collected or tracked. Because of this, your visitors may notice the following changes on your website when they reject cookies:The favorites list does not work because it is a cookie-based feature. The visitor can mark the product as their favorite, but it will not be stored in the list. The compare button on the product will have limited use. It will show the product comparison, but the product will be removed when it is reloaded."Last visited products" will always be empty unless visitors "accept" the cookie policy. This is because it cannot store this information without a cookie.Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google AdWords will not work. It will not collect any data about the user.Google's consent mode gives you an alternative way to still track the required data even if the visitor has rejected cookies. These are, from the visitor's perspective, the main effects of rejecting cookies. If the customer chooses to "Accept" cookies again, all functions will work again. The site will also resume tracking with Google and Facebook Pixel. The tracking will be restarted, and will not remember what the customer did before accepting cookies. What is Google's consent mode?Websites using Google's tools do not collect any information when cookies are rejected. To overcome these data tracking limitations imposed by Google tools, we now support Google Consent Mode. It helps you track the mandatory data while respecting your visitors' choices. You can learn more about Google Consent Mode here. How does it work? With the new Google Consent Mode, if the visitor accepts cookies, the tools will work as usual and get detailed information about visitors' behavior. When consent is active in the store and the visitor has rejected cookie consent, no detailed data will be saved as before. It will only send a ping to Google to tell it whether the specific goal has been achieved or not. Make sure your marketing goals are met while respecting the visitor's consent to cookies. You can enable consent under Appearance >> Themes >> Edit >> Add-ons >> Cookie >> Require consentMore information about custom applications and their cookie consent? This cookie policy will only affect the built-in features. Any custom or 3rd party scripts added manually in the webshop under themes or in other places like the product page, checkout or order confirmation page will not be affected by the visitor's consent to cookies. However, it will be your responsibility for any cookies set by these scripts. If you want to know more about cookies and their functions, please contact support at support@abicart.se.New update:Benefits:Show your custom text to your visitors about the data you collect and your terms and conditions.Customize the pop-up with HTML and CSS.Require cookie consent from your visitors by making the choice mandatory.Google's consent mode still allows you to collect visitor data by respecting their privacy when the cookie is denied by the visitors. The new Facebook cookie consent feature allows the Facebook pixel to track all visitor data and save it until the visitor makes a cookie choice. Then, based on the choice, it will be updated on your Facebook tracking page.Points to remember:This is only available in the latest version of our themes.Facebook Cookie Consent is built-in and does not have an explicit setting like Google Consent. The statistics will change when cookies are turned off by default, until the visitor makes an active choice and accepts cookies. If the visitor rejects the cookie, the Facebook cookie consent will not send the saved information to your pixel tracking page. In other words, if the visitor never gives cookie consent, the Facebook tracking feature will not send any data at all.The statistics will not be affected for those existing visitors who have already accepted cookies before the update. If a buyer has already accepted cookies, this update will not affect their choice of cookies and will continue to collect their data. The reason is that a website should only collect cookies from users after they have given their explicit consent to the specific purposes of use. Until then, it is thus mandatory to turn them off in accordance with the legal requirements. It is their choice to choose what information they want to share. This also complies with the rules of other services, such as Google Ads.The new cookie policy is only available in the latest version of our themes, so it's time to upgrade your theme to access this new feature. What are the new settings? We have divided the cookie settings into two parts: General and Advanced.General - Here you can control the customization and selection of general cookie settings.Advanced - Here you can turn on or off the cookie policy pop-up in this section. But it is at your own riskRequest consent: This makes the selection of cookies mandatory. When a new visitor arrives on your website, the pop-up will be placed in the center of the website. (Like newsletters and other pop-ups. The visitor must make an active choice to explore the site. They can close it without making a choice, but with each button click it will keep popping back up until they make an active choice. This cookie pop-up will not affect other pop-ups such as newsletters, visitor type (business or individual).Cookie text:You can add your own content, design your layout (HTML + CSS), add images, videos and other customization. The cookie field text will have a fixed mandatory text for the "Terms of Use" page. It is built-in and cannot be deleted. But it can be customized with CSS.You can enter the HTML customization under the (<>) icon and the corresponding CSS under Style >> Custom CSS in the theme.Abicart mandatory cookies:Abicart has a number of cookies that are required for the site to work. These are as follows:SERVERID: Indicates which of our API servers the requests should go to.theme_id: Specifies the theme to use when loading the store. This is mostly used during theme preview.diversity_twssessid_{Webshop UID}: Specifies the session ID of the current visitor. The last part of the cookie name is the web shop ID. If this cookie is deleted and the user has an active shopping cart, the content will be emptied unless the session ID is retrieved again. Logged-in customers are logged out.twssessid_{Webshop UID}: Same as "diversity_twssessid_{Webshop UID}".diversity_webshop_language: Indicates the language used in the shop.twsApi.Locale.currency: Used to keep track of the currency to be displayed on the website. Without this, the default currency will be displayed the next time the page is refreshed/reloaded.twsCore.pendingShipmentCountry: Indicates the shipping country selected by the visitor. Depending on the country of delivery, the VAT rate on prices may be different. So this cookie makes sure that if the page is reloaded in any way, the shop will still show the same price.cookie_accepted: Saves the choice for cookie consent.

Favorites

27 Nov 2025

Enable visitors to mark and save favourite productsWhat are favorites? It is a feature that allows visitors to mark products as favorites and save them in a list. If the feature is enabled, a heart will appear on each product page. If the visitor clicks on the heart, the product will be saved as a favorite and you can then find all the favorites by clicking on another heart at the top of the shopping basket. We have updated the favorites feature so from today onwards you do not need to be logged in to use the feature. Activate favorites in the themeGo to Appearance -> Themes -> select theme, edit -> Content -> Product page -> Favourites & shopping lists. At "Mark as favorite" select "Enabled" and save. How does it work in the shop?On each product page, an icon with a heart will appear below the product price. If the visitor clicks on the icon, the product will be saved in a favorites list. To see the whole favorites list, click on another icon with a heart at the top of the shopping basket. From the list, the customer can go directly to the product page or add it to the shopping cart. If the product has variants/options or requires file uploading, the customer will not be able to add it to the shopping cart directly but will be redirected to the product page to make the mandatory selections first.

Customer's choice (sizes and colors)

27 Nov 2025

If you have products where the customer has to make certain choices, such as choosing a colour or size, you use the function called customer choice. What is the customer's choice? There are two different types of customer choice, "option" and "optional text". The option creates a list of choices for the buyer, such as sizes and colors. The "optional text" is a text field where the buyer enters a text. For example, if you are selling a printed sweater, the buyer can enter the text for the print in the text box.Why use customer choice? If you sell products that come in many different varieties, it may be easier to have one item with different choices than to have 20 almost identical items. The choices are presented as a drop-down list (options) or a bulleted list (variants) on the item page, allowing the buyer to easily select a color and/or size of the item and then add it to the shopping basket. Another advantage of creating customer choices is that the filter function works in combination with it. You can then select a color and/or size on a category page and it will list all items that have that size in stock.Example options:Example variants:Create customer choiceGo to Assortment -> Articles -> select an article, edit -> tab "Customer's choice". Click on the link "Add choice". This will open a box on the right where you can make several choices. NameEnter a name for the option, for example, Size or Colour. In our example, we are going to create a color with three choices, so we enter "Colour" as the name. Mandatory (must be selected by the customer)Should the field be mandatory or optional for the buyer? In our example, the buyer must choose a color so we check this box. Any price impact is applied before multiplying the price by the numeric text fields that affect the quantity. If you have an item with a price per square meter, you can create two text fields, one for width and one for height. If you tick this option, the value will be multiplied in these two fields before the price is calculated. In our example, we will not use this so we leave the box unchecked.Own properties (stock balance, article number, image)If you want to be able to specify stock balance, and item number or to be able to link an image to each selection, activate it here. In our example, we want to have a stock balance on the different colors so we tick this box. Create variantsThen we need to create the variants for the customer to choose from. In our example the different colors. Click on the link "Add options". The content of the box changed and now three new headings appear.Name of the optionHere you enter the name of the variant, in our example colors. We enter "Blue" in this box. Price impactIf the choice made by the customer will affect the price, a value can be entered here which will be added to the basic price of the article. In our example, the color choice costs nothing extra so we leave this field blank. Weight impact (grams)If the choice the customer makes will affect the weight, a value can be entered here which is added to the basis weight of the article. In our example, the color choice weighs nothing extra so we leave the field blank. Then we repeat the step and click on " Add options again. We enter a new variant, in our example, we write "Yellow". We repeat the step again and enter "Red". Then we click on the Save button in the top right corner. Now we have created a customer choice with three colors that the buyer can choose on the item. In this view, we can enter the item number for each variant. If you have activated stock management on the article (under the tab Article properties), there are also fields for stock balance at each variant. In order to link different images to the variants, you first need to upload the images under the tab Article properties at "Image". Then a link, "Select image" will appear at the far right of each variant and you can then choose from the uploaded images. Do the variants have to have article numbers? It is not a requirement to use item numbers but if you have an integration to a store or POS system then you must have them for the link between systems to work. Similarly, if you want to easily update stock balances or prices of the variants via an import, each selection must have a unique item number.

Write alt text for product images and check the correct image type

27 Nov 2025

Describe important images for customers who can't see them and check which alternative text is actually displayed. This guide applies to administrators working with images in Go, Plus, and Pro. The product gallery's alt field is language-dependent. Group images, content blocks, and slideshows have other fields and may behave differently between themes and component versions; a visible caption is not automatically the image's alt attribute. 1. Add alt text to the correct product image Open Assortment → Products and edit the product.Find the relevant image and open the image information using the arrow icon.Enter a short, relevant alt text for the image's content/function.Enter the corresponding text for each language you use and save. Example: “Blue rain jacket, front view with hood” is more useful than “image1” or a list of keywords. Describe what is relevant in the image's context. For a linked functional image, the link's purpose also needs to be understandable. 2. Understand the product image's fallback text If the product image's alt field is empty, the product name may be displayed as fallback text, with a numbered suffix for additional images. An empty field therefore does not guarantee alt="" for a decorative image. Check the correct language version and both the main image and thumbnail in the store's active theme. Filename, visible caption, title, and alt text are different things. A custom filename does not replace alt text. Use stable filenames that the uploader accepts; do not change an already used public file address just to improve a description. 3. Choose the right path for other images Image typeWhat to doProduct galleryUse the image information per language and check the fallback value.Group/content imageCheck the current editor's image settings and that the description becomes the img-alt, not just a caption.Image in a custom HTML blockSet the intended alt directly on the img element and check the result.Showcase blockThe text field's connection to alternative text depends on the component. Don't automatically read all visible text as alt text.Older slideshowsCheck the slideshow's own image settings. Not all older versions offer a field for custom alternative text; a product image field does not automatically change the slideshow's images. For a purely decorative image, an empty alt is a common intentional choice when the component actually supports it. Do not delete the product name to try to force an empty fallback text. 4. Check the public image Open the correct language, sub-store, and active theme.Check the image's actual alt attribute in the browser's image/accessibility information, not just the form's text field.Check both the main image and thumbnail, as well as images that are reused in other blocks. If an important image cannot be given a useful description in the current component, use a component that supports this. Do not put the text in an unrelated product field. Quick startIdentify the image type and current language.Write relevant alternative text in the correct field.Save and check the actual img-alt, including the fallback value.Check other components separately. Subscription and accessProduct image management applies to Go, Plus, and Pro. Languages must be correctly activated and the content saved. Alt support in showcase blocks and slideshows depends on the active component/theme version, not just the plan name.
